Beautiful chicken tenders, pretty ok fries for a delivery. But not good enough for almost £11 for 6 tenders!

Although a Greene King pub, it does its own thing with pizza, and they’re great (2 for 1 Tuesday too!). My kind of space also – big, airy inside.

Didn’t realise they had a Sunday roast menu like a pub, but I don’t think that affects the result. It’s…fine. The interior is ok. It bills itself as a cafe, then “The Grill Room” takes over – but has the same menu? And the food was just ok – burger was ok. Roast lamb was ok. Sticky date pudding was good and the kids’ menu was good. Just nothing to draw one back really.

The long awaited beachside venue. Went along week of hospo reopening and…well. The staff can’t be faulted (they brought Ryan a cupcake when he got sad for spilling his juice) but they are absolutely not geared up for families on the menu. And the space is disappointing; it’s a cacophony that you can’t hear over, and the windows were so fogged/dirty you can’t see the sea which is half of why you’re there. Keen to try the outside sometime.

Deliveroo Editions of a brand I’ve heard of but never had. Had one of their preconfigured grilled chicken burritos, and I really enjoyed that it was a bit different – chargrilled flavour. Good chips and guac too. Not my favourite burrito, but worth a go for sure.

Only tried one thing: a 12″ garlic and mozzarella pizza bread. And it was quite expensive, but so so worth it.

Proper dirty curry takeaway; everything was delicious because it was very bad for us. Have to not eat too much to avoid having it sit inside you for a long time, but that’s not its fault!

I first came across these guys with a cart out the back of the station, but turns out FIKA is a proper cafe in Hove. Anyway, they specialise in fried egg sandwiches. Had a Deliveroo with candied bacon, egg, cheese and tonkatsu sauce. It was really yummy, all the ingredients were really nice quality, beautiful sourdough. Plus a great brownie for after!

Brighton outpost of a respected chain. Had Deliveroo in Covid times. So, the burger was pretty good, and the rosemary fries I did really enjoy. But I’m only giving it Ok because I’d much rather have one of the other burger options in town!

Fried chicken and waffle place; had a BIRD burger which had a great crunchy outside and a yummy mustard sauce. Ultimately chicken burgers end up disappointing me, so I think I shall have to try their tenders; fries were a little hollow too.
