Pizza at the Station/Pizza Fuoco

There’s a little trailer thing right in front of the station, I thought it was called Pizza at the Station but can only see Pizza Fuoco online. Tried a garlic and rosemary flatbread, bit too thin and crispy for my taste, but I like how the guy actually makes and wood-fires a pizza right there for you in his dinky little kitchen.

Verdict: Ok

The Prince Albert

What a night. Looks grubby from the outside, but is cosy inside with airbrushed Spock and the Birth of Venus among others. Bartenders look like roadies and/or members of a death metal band but incredibly friendly. Menu is randomly Portuguese tapas and other food, and super great. We had chorizo – piles, and delicious – and a brascada (steak, parma ham, fried onion and cheese sandwich) which was also immense and delicious. To top it off, smoking outside we chat to a guy who asks if we’re here for the hip hop? So we go upstairs and watch freestyle rap battles. I mean, WHAT.  Amazing.

Verdict: Awesome

English’s of Brighton

Wow, what a place. Understated class and friendly service without being uppity, and incredible food. Probably the best salt and chilli pepper squid I’ve ever had. Set menu excellent value and actually might contain what you were going to have anyway. Highly recommend.
