Looks low-key, but this place has an amazing array of delicious seafood at ridiculously cheap prices. Super hectic though, book ahead if you want to come in!

Really rock solid pub; had an excellent steak here plus buffet style food at a function. All great – building nothing fancy, just an ace pub.

Stylish Japanese with big sushi conveyor; first tip is make sure to sit at it, as it’s a pain to have to leap up all the time. Food is all good stuff – nice sushi, really nice pork belly side – but you pay over the odds for the nice restaurant!

“Mexican street food” is the pitch, and although the “street food” part basically means the food is in plastic baskets, it is highly delicious. Choose a base like quesadila or tacos, your filling, and add various degrees of salsa. Generous portions too, including a calamari starter that is insanely good. Various tequila cocktails also excellent. Only drawback is literally no two seat tables – you’ll be cosy!

Cafe attached to Yellowave Beach Sports which we popped into. Great example of an unassuming but quality cafe; had a great bacon sandwich, BLT, and wrap. Super chilled.

Japanese place near Brighton station; had delivery. Wanted to like these guys more; udon noodles good, katsu curry just ok really. They do sushi too.

The frontage is deceptive – this is a cavernous pub but really warm and cosy, with overstuffed chairs and candles. Great place for a quiet one that makes you feel a million miles away.

Cosy pub although most seating is stools; quiet and friendly atmosphere, cheap drinks, and it’s bigger than it looks. Nothing dramatic, but perfectly pleasant.

Doesn’t quite feel right to call this a pub, but it’s not quite a bar either; we went in after a burger at the Mash Tun next door. Two floors, with a super cool terrace upstairs that covers over in the event of rain, as do tables out front. Quirky decor that I liked, and the food looked excellent.

Pub with big outdoor area, one of these rammed with junk decorations type places and loud-ish music inside. Very nice people, and they have the “Burger Kult” inside which does fancy burgers – had the “Chuck Satan” with chopped bacon, sweet onion relish, cheese – very tasty, but just missing something that I can’t put my finger on. Seasoned fries awesome but too salty for some. I’d say my fave Brighton burger so far.
