Easy Tiger

Surprisingly small little pub offering Indian street food. It’s very tasty, although don’t make the mistake of trying to eat just small plates. You really want to have one of their mains and maybe a couple of small plates. But delicious, and lovely people.

Halisco

Been meaning to go here for ages and it is really, really good. Great home made chips and guac (really good guac), then a great selection of small plates – we had chicken croquettes with orange and habenero jam, cactus and smoked cheese hash browns, and crispy pork belly. Then two crispy oyster mushroom tacos. All in the £9-£10 range, but very generous servings. Plus, the tequila and margaritas are amazing!

Bao Bun

A cute little place, with very nice dumplings, and tasty herby fries. But the bao buns were really pretty basic and just ok. Much better going to the Pond which is nearby.

Verdict: Ok

Green Dragon

One of the North Laine pubs built into a shopping street, but surprisingly spacious and a very pleasant vibe. They serve Pieminister pies with mash and gravy. Pieminister do a good pie, but my chicken/ham/leek was overdone (I presumed heated in the oven), but was ok with the gravy. However: pie, mash, gravy and a pie for £10, so insane value. Points for value, not so much for selection.
