Nice little cafe tending to the caff – had a serviceable breakfast but it suffers due to abundance of genuinely great food nearby.

Tiny pub (maybe seating 25 at a pinch!) full of really friendly people. Awesome atmosphere.

Bar-ish place, best feature being massive garden out back with tables and padded chairs. Had rather nice burgers here, although limited beer selection stops it from smashing it. Awesome gin fizz-type cocktail had, one of the best ever.

Little cafe with a great outdoor area for nice weather; had a tasty bacon and egg sandwich and tomato/avocado toast. Delicious with friendly staff; lunch menu looks great too.

Award-winning vege resto; was recommended to have the Terre a Verre menu, where you get a taste of lots of dishes, chips, and a carafe of wine per two for £23. All these things are delivered but truth be told I wasn’t that into a lot of the pieces; felt more like raw food, and I normally like vege food. I feel like I need to go and just have the main I want!

Funky little bar with loads of craft beer on tap; check upstairs which has loads of space which wasn’t being used on the Friday we were there. Menu looks great but we just had beer and cocktails.

Nice little Japanese place with the usual suspects of sushi, udon, bento and katsu. Pretty average food though, and won’t bother going back.
Verdict: Don’t go

Squirrelled away behind an unassuming frontage, the Cocktail Shack is surprisingly roomy and has a bit of a Java type theme. Most importantly its staff are great (table service!) and the cocktails are wonderful and mental and delicious – we’re talking Cast a-Wray (wray rum) done up like a grass mug with a toffee bon bon Wilson. Also tasty snacks from the cafe-type place attached.

Nice Indian takeaway, I didn’t particularly enjoy mine but I think that was more the dish, I did however enjoy my garlic pizza naan and a biryani also enjoyed. Was “Ok”, now updated to “Don’t go” as had a deeply average korma and the mutter paneer had chickpeas instead of real peas.
Verdict: Don’t go
