So…wow. Straight up I’d say easily best pizza ever, at a really great price. Nice kids deal, I loved my double pepperoni and hot honey. Just amazing.

Sister restaurant to the excellent Halisco and very close by, doing bao buns and small plates with cocktails. Cocktails to be fair were very good – a fantastic thyme infused dirty martini and a Hibiscus Whiskus (prosecco and ginger and gin). Food a little mixed. Very nice corn ribs with miso butter, spam fritters and gochujang ketchup also delicious. Korean fried chicken a let down – nice, but really more like a general tasty chicken dish than fried chicken. Bao buns pretty ok but meat chewy. Dessert super amazing – deep fried pistachio bao bun with gochujang caramel which really works. As is often the case with these, if it wasn’t Brighton I’d probably be more keen, but we are awash with this sort of food, so my verdict is based on: I had a nice time, but not bothered about going back.

Bills itself as an “Italian Bakery and More…” and it’s – it’s ok. Pizza slices are a bit strange, half of them seem to be focaccia based which I was fine with but not what you’d expect, and they heat up – ok. Sweet treats that drew us there in the first place – similarly. Would probably get a worse grade but it’s pretty reasonably priced especially for the pizza, and they’re very nice!

A lovely, classic type Italian with a broad range of pizza/pasta at reasonable prices – massive servings!

Fantastic Japanese, lovingly fitted out, great service and very reasonable prices – I thought gosh, £9/£10 for sushi rolls was a lot but then that’s 8 pieces, so very good value. Had great pumpkin korokke and chicken katsu rolls, fantastic tempura and really interesting chilli salmon sashimi.

Seen it so many times and finally went in for a drink and a meal. It is HUGE and easily the largest pub I’ve ever been in (I think?), and that extends to a large outdoor area. Furnishing is pretty basic, small plates pretty decent for the price (very good chorizo and surprisingly good tempura cauliflower). It’s only not Awesome because I think for the money they want the ambience and quality’s not quite there.

Hard one to call, the layout of this one is so-so, odd tables and it is very dark. Alberta’s sub sandwich concession is really good for subs and fries, but surprisingly average for wings. So I think net net, it was just ok.
Verdict: Ok

Dishoom spinoff with a nice warm vibe inside. Really can’t fault it, the mutter paneer was great, the cheese naan incredible, and all the picky bits (especially crispy spinach chaat) were just amazing. And a really good price for top shelf eating.
Verdict: Amazing

Been meaning to go for an age to the one in Preston Street but just had lunch here. Assuming you like ramen it’s very good although not cheap; wouldn’t recommend the seaweed chips unless you really like seaweed (dumb as that sounds). Nice people and a cute little space.
